Chapter One | themissingsomething

the Pink Room experience

created by Ivana Wong, is the first chapter of a conceptual art project called “The Missing Something...”. It is an art tour with multimedia expressions, a platform proffered to a conductive conversation between the artist and the audience on the subject of labelling culture.

At the beginning, labels are neutral tools to help us learn about the world , and to facilitate different tasks in life. However, applying labels to a person can develop stereotyping, which eventually shapes our behaviour, our beliefs, our society, and finally the world. The negative impacts can be devastating.

The Experience

Presented in the form of experiential-art, the space is divided into 6 sections, where through different sensations, we are engaged in a conversation about how labelling culture has overwhelmingly intruded into our lives and our souls.

標籤用在別人身上也就等於鏡片裝在自身，有了這些便利的鏡片，侷限便隨之而來，漸漸漸漸這些通通化成傷痛，這些力量積沙成潮卻也許最後會反噬自己，

步入空間內的不同角落，經歷由氣味、照片甚至光影聲效組成的作品，然後會想到那些眼下的世界和標籤下圍繞的一切。

在順著自己的感覺遊走在整個空間內，每個部份就如同畫詩中的度度元素，是這次經驗的一角，最後結集而成還有你的想法，請把這些攜帶著離開，回到現實世界後讓那些想法發芽，這就是The Pink Room的精神。
